Seniors Celebration Countdown!

It's time to wrap up securing your attendee spot for the 2024 Senior Celebration!  

We will select the venue from the number of confirmed and paid attendees by end of day today (April 5).

• Enter amount to cover the number of persons attending the event (NOTE: multiple separate contributions can be made if others in your party need to pay separately)
• IMPORTANT - AFTER payment is completed, use the Contacts page on this website and send the amount paid, number of attendees covered, any additional donation made, name and email (or identifying details) on the contribution, and associated senior's first and last name (this will help us association contributions for attendees and create a tracker for us)

We had 25 individuals respond to the questionnaire. This information has been very helpful in starting to evaluate the size of venue we should plan for and the financial commitment that we can expect. THANK YOU! 

The survey results indicate approximately 120 - 130 people (seniors, family, and friends) are interested in attending the in-person celebration. It is great to see so many interested in helping out, this event will certainly take multiple volunteers to be successful. 

The celebration event proposed schedule is: 

• 1 - 3 virtual celebration viewing
• 3 - 5 reception with food and drinks

Venue estimates are almost all in now that we have a better idea on the number of attendees. Venues to accommodate up to 150 will cost between $6300 - $9500. We are also in the process of securing proposals for catering as each venue as a preferred or required caterer list. The catering estimates vary greatly depending on the setting; however, it can be $1500 - $7000. More details are available on the Costs page on this website.

The first order of business is to book a venue! We are very excited to get a location secured, so we can work on the finer details. In order to secure a venue, we need to get the financial pledges that were made via the Google Form survey. 

We understand that everyone has a varying level of donation capability and appreciate everyone's understanding that this event will be an investment and will require a financial commitment from all attendees.  

Each attendee (including seniors) will need to pay a $100 attendee contribution. We need to secure these funds as soon as possible to secure the venue, so we ask that this contribution be completed by April 5, 2024.

More information is being added to this site regarding other activities going on the weekend of June 21 - 23 in the DC area, hotel recommendations, etc. We welcome any and all feedback through the  Contacts page as well.

Google Form Questionnaire results thus far:

• 19 replies, all but 2 (maybe's) can attend an event in DC
• ~110 attendees, including graduates
• Contribution pledges are generous! A running contributions amount will be available for viewing on the COST Page once they begin to trickle in 
• 12 out of 19 are- or are potentially- interested in accommodation rates. Hotel suggestions will be added to the RESOURCES page soon!
• Everyone is offering varying degrees of volunteer time for decorating, set-up, break-down, and cleaning. If it becomes imbalanced, a specific volunteer task list will be created and posted here. Also, please visit the **VOLUNTEER NEEDS** Page! THANK YOU!
